Day Seven!

Another big welcome as we returned to Christ Lutheran for the start of our 8-mile leg to Dupont. What a sweet group!

And a bonus was reconnecting with Craig, the brother of a dear friend I traveled with 52 years ago. Craig lives in the area and decided to join us for the entire day!

This was the day we had to circumnavigate a large military base by walking the (usually wide) shoulder of the one road that goes around the base. At least there were perfectly ripe blackberries to pick.

And Kristin, our amazing point person at Christ Lutheran, walked the first 2.5 miles with us (along with 87-year old Linda, her dog Mocha, and Kristin’s nephew Michael). Here’s Bob giving Kristin a well-deserved hug:

Walking only 8 miles seemed like a breeze, and we arrived at our destination, DuPont’s Clocktower Park, just after noon. (Unlike all of our other destinations, we couldn’t connect with a faith community in Dupont and so we decided on the local public park.)

Bob and I are gratefully being hosted these last two nights by our dear friends Lance and Laura who live in Olympia. Lance is a musician and this photo shows him and friends working out an arrangement of a Be Kind Do Good song based on an original poem written by Bob.
